Path to Menzoberranzan - Character Creation Screen Concept

I've been working together with the Baldur's Gate 3 mod Path to Menzoberranzan team for a couple of months now, and I recently got to work on the design of our own character creation screen!
I'm really greatful to our leads for the trust they put in me <3

I obviously took inspiration from the Underdark that's already depicted in BG3, but we wanted to make it our own. In Italy we have this beautiful cave, Frasassi - I took a lot of inspiration from it.

I started from some thumbnail iterations, and these two stuck out: the stone arch looked spider-y enough to belong around the city of Menzoberranzan, and the vastness of the second one correctly depicted how incredibly big the Underdark is.

Some other iterations. The first one was completely made in Photoshop, the second was blocked out in Blender, and the third one was almost completely done in Unreal Engine 5.

I wanted to have a clear idea of what would have been covered by the UI and how, so I took my time to dig the assets out of the game files and arrange them on Photoshop, both for the keyboard+mouse, and the controller UI.
